wolf athena hams it up on katmai alaska’s wild peninsula
Kamai, Alaska’s Wild Peninsula (PBS, Nature) will air July 5th. John Grabowska’s latest film is a ‘must see’ for anyone interested in wilderness. Cinematographer, Daniel Zatz (BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, PBS) used a Cineflex camera for spectacular aerials and on the ground he worked with a 16 x 25 lens in amazing close encounters with this coastal wolf.
buck wilde image, white wolf encounter, canon 7d, canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS lens handheld (though not on assignment with daniel zatz, buck wilde image of the wolf was taken minutes afterward while fishing for salmon)
Nothing epitomizes wilderness more potently than wolves and bears, so Daniel got his helicopter down onto the Katmai Coastal Bear Tours research vessel, Kittiwake and his feet ashore on grizzly ground. There on Katmai National Park’s wilderness coast, he captured this Zatzworks cut of a wolf named Athena foraging with the great bears.
